Dr. Krupa Chothani


Dr. Chothani was inspired to pursue a career in Optometry at a very young age. Having a passion for eye care and a profound aspiration to give back to the community, she endeavoured to accomplish her dream of becoming an Optometrist.

Originally from London, England, she completed her Degree in Optometry at Cardiff University, graduating with Honours. She spent over five years practicing as a Senior Optometrist in the world-renowned City of Oxford, where she gained extensive experience in primary eye care, dry eye management, contact lens fitting, ocular disease and laser surgery co-management.

Dr. Chothani moved to Toronto in 2012, after which she completed further qualifications at the University of Waterloo and obtained her Ontario license to practice Optometry. She is a fully licensed member of the College of Optometrists of Ontario, and is certified in the use of diagnostic and therapeutic agents to detect, treat and manage a range of ocular conditions. She
is an active member of the community, and strives to promote the importance of vision care worldwide through charity and fundraising initiatives to help others in need.

Dr. Krupa is a seasoned traveller, when she isn’t serving her patients and community through fundraisers and charity events, Dr. Chothani enjoys exploring new lands, spending time with family, and documenting her adventures through photography.

She is committed to providing exceptional standards of eye care to deliver a personalised service for each and every one of her patients. Her mission is to provide the community of Shelburne with the highest standard of comprehensive eye health and vision care in a friendly environment, with passion and integrity. With a special interest in family eye care and ocular pathology, Dr. Chothani strives to understand your needs and will always take the time to provide the optimal care to you and your family.

Dr. Chothani is an active member of the Canadian Association of Optometrists (CAO) and the Ontario Association of Optometrists (OAO).

Dr. John Raji


Dr. John Raji (pronounced Reggie) had a strong inclination towards healthcare and the sciences growing up. He attended McMaster University in Hamilton, ON to earn an Honours Bachelor of Science. Here he found a passion for optometry and fled the harsh winters of Canada to warmer weather in Houston, Texas. Here, Dr. Raji earned his Doctor of Optometry degree graduating again with honors (magna cum laude) and as member of the Beta Sigma Kappa optometric honors society.

Dr. Raji received awards for excellence in Neuro-optometric care and Cornea-Contact lens care. He also served as the National Liaison for the Sports Vision Section in the American Optometric Association. Dr. Raji published numerous articles for the website and served as an Executive Journalist. In his fourth year, he was involved in research regarding scleral lenses and the ocular surface would like to pursue some research and clinical in the field of specialty lenses and ocular surface diseases. He spent his rotations in clinics in Houston, Dallas and Austin, TX where he had experience treating an underserved population in diseases such as vascular occlusions, diabetic retinopathy, keratoconus, and glaucoma.

Returning back to Canada, Dr. Raji worked on Vancouver Island providing eye care to the residents of the peninsula. Dr. Raji is happy to be back in Ontario and looking forward to sharing his passion for optometry and healthcare where it all started for him.
